EasyMeds – Informed Consent for Telehealth Services

Last Updated: September 1, 2025

“EasyMeds” (“EasyMeds Health,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), is a brand operated by Groove Health Limited, a company incorporated in Jamaica. Throughout this document, references to “EasyMeds,” “EasyMeds Health,” “we,” “us,” or “our” refer to Groove Health Limited, trading under the brand name EasyMeds.

We provide an online telemedicine platform where Jamaican residents can receive online doctor consultations and order prescription medications and treatments delivered in discreet packaging to their homes.

By clicking “I Agree,” checking a related box, or otherwise affirmatively accepting this Consent, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, do not use EasyMeds’ telehealth services.

1. Nature of Telehealth

Telehealth involves healthcare delivered using electronic communications between you and licensed Jamaican doctors (“Providers”). This may include:

  • Online health intake forms and consultations
  • Secure messaging, audio, or video calls
  • Electronic transmission of medical records, images, or prescriptions

You may choose to seek in-person medical care instead of telehealth at any time. Responsibility for your overall medical care should remain with your local primary care doctor, if you have one, and we strongly encourage you to locate one if you do not.

2. Relationship with Your Provider

EasyMeds and its Providers do not replace the role of your primary care doctor. A doctor-patient relationship through EasyMeds only begins when:

  • You have created an account and completed the required health questions, and
  • The Provider has reviewed your information, and
  • The Provider has determined that telehealth is appropriate for your specific clinical needs.

Simply submitting information, making payment, or sending a message does not by itself establish a doctor-patient relationship.

3. Potential Benefits

  • Convenient access to licensed medical care without visiting a doctor’s office or pharmacy.
  • Faster diagnosis and treatment for certain conditions.
  • Reduced stigma, increased privacy, and discreet prescription fulfillment and delivery.

4. Potential Risks

  • Providers may be unable to perform certain physical examinations, which could limit diagnosis.
  • Technical failures (internet, software, or equipment) may delay consultations.
  • Data breaches, although unlikely, are possible despite security safeguards.
  • Providers may determine telehealth is not appropriate for your condition and refer you for in-person care.

5. Emergencies

Telehealth is not for emergencies.
If you experience chest pain, shortness of breath, loss of consciousness, or any life-threatening emergency, call 119 in Jamaica or go to the nearest emergency department.

6. Privacy and Security

EasyMeds takes steps to safeguard your medical records in compliance with Jamaican law. Your health information may be shared with Providers, pharmacists, and other authorized personnel for your treatment, billing, scheduling, or regulatory purposes. Persons assisting with telehealth technology may occasionally be present during a consultation, and you have the right to request they leave or to terminate a consultation at any time.

7. Prescriptions

  • EasyMeds Providers may only prescribe medications that are appropriate, safe, and lawful in Jamaica.
  • Narcotics or controlled substances for pain will not be prescribed.
  • There is no guarantee that a prescription will be given.

8. Patient Responsibilities

By using EasyMeds, you confirm that:

  • All information you provide is accurate and complete.
  • You must identify yourself, and provide evidence of name, age, address, email ID, phone number or any other identification of next of kin that may be reasonably required.
  • You will inform your Provider of any allergies, current medications, or medical history relevant to your treatment.
  • You will follow your Provider’s instructions and read all prescription information provided.

9. Uses of Information

You consent to EasyMeds and its Providers using your information for the following purposes:

  • Delivering medical consultations, prescriptions, and treatments.
  • Communicating with you about your care, orders, or related health services.
  • Complying with Jamaican legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Improving EasyMeds’ services in a way that does not disclose your personal identity.

10. Your Rights

  • You may withhold or withdraw your consent for telehealth at any time without affecting your future care.
  • You may request a copy of your medical records, subject to reasonable costs of preparation and delivery.
  • Alternatives to telehealth, such as in-person visits or testing, are available to you.
  • While telehealth may offer convenience and privacy, results and outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

11. Consent

By accepting this Consent, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You understand the benefits and risks of telehealth.
  • You consent to the use of telehealth for your medical care through EasyMeds.
  • You authorize EasyMeds Providers to diagnose, prescribe, and deliver care using telehealth.

12. Hold Harmless / Limitation of Liability

You agree to hold harmless and not to hold EasyMeds, its Providers, or affiliates liable for:

  • Delays, interruptions, or data loss caused by technical failures beyond EasyMeds’ control.
  • Any unauthorized access to your health information despite reasonable security safeguards.
  • Decisions made by your Provider in good faith and in accordance with professional medical judgment.

This Consent does not waive your rights under Jamaican law, but it does limit EasyMeds’ liability to the fullest extent permitted by law.
